Troubleshooting LDAPS

Test the LDAPS port and verify the LDAPS connection with LDP on the connector server. These procedures help confirm connectivity to the domain controller over SSL.

To Test the LDAPS Port

  1. On the connector server, open PowerShell.

  2. Run:

    tnc domain-controller-name -Port 636

  3. Confirm that the command output contains:

    TcpTestSucceeded : True

    This result verifies that the connector can connect to the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol over SSL (LDAPS) port.

To Test the LDAPS Connection with LDP

  1. From Programs and Features, install Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services.

  2. Run:

    ldp.exe

  3. From the Connection menu, select Connect.

  4. In the Server field, enter the domain controller name or IP address.

  5. In the Port field, enter 636.

  6. Select SSL.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Confirm that the connection information contains:

    • Host Supports SSL

    • DN information
