Endpoint Security Client Device Restart Requirements

When an administrator make changes to these actions for the Endpoint Security client, the endpoint devices must be restarted to enforce the changes on the endpoint:

  • When adding or removing the following capabilities:

    • Full Disk Encryption

    • Media Encryption & Port Protection.

  • When removing the Anti-Malware capability during an upgrade or policy change.

  • When switching the Anti-Malware engine from E1 to E2 (DHS compliant) client version.

  • After successfully installing the Endpoint Security client on endpoints with KMDF (Kernel-Mode Driver Framework) versions 1.10 or lower.
