The port speed is always 10G.

This is the Sync port for Dual Chassis.

9 - 40 on SSM440

These are the QSFP ports.

The port speed is according to the SSM QSFP port mode.

Note - A license is required to use the 100GB ports on SSM440.

Configuring the QSFP Port Mode for SSM Ports on Scalable Chassis

Description

Use these commands in Gaia gClish to configure and show the QSFP port mode for SSM ports.

Configuration is saved in the database on all SGMs.

Important - Changing the QSFP port mode causes the SSM to reboot. This can cause traffic outage.

Syntax

set ssm id <SSM ID> qsfp-ports-mode <QSFP Port Mode>

Note - After changing the QSFP mode on SSM ports, run the insights command and refer to the Overview tab to make sure the SSM ports are configured correctly.

Parameters

Parameter

Description

<SSM ID>

SSM identification number: 1 or 2.

<QSFP Port Mode>

Specifies the QSFP port mode and speeds.

SSM Model

QSFP Port Mode

Port Speeds

SSM440

2x100G_4x40G

Ports 9, 13, 17, and 21 - work in 40G mode
