Disk Space Requirements for Open Server / Virtual Machine

These are the requirements for the entire disk device to perform a Clean Install:

Notes:

On an Open Server Physical computer manufactured and distributed by a company, other than Check Point. / Virtual Machine, only one upgrade is allowed.

To upgrade again:
- On a Security Gateway Dedicated Check Point server that runs Check Point software to inspect traffic and enforce Security Policies for connected network resources.:
  1. Export the Gaia Check Point security operating system that combines the strengths of both SecurePlatform and IPSO operating systems. OS configuration (save configuration /var/log/Gaia_Config.txt).
  2. Copy all other configuration files, in which you made manual changes.
  3. Perform a Clean Install of the required version.
  4. Configure the required settings again based on the exported files.
- On a Management Server Check Point Single-Domain Security Management Server or a Multi-Domain Security Management Server.:
  
  Use an Advanced Upgrade or an Upgrade with Migration - see Supported Upgrade Paths.
  1. Export the management database.
  2. Copy all other configuration files, in which you made manual changes.
  3. Perform a Clean Install of the required version.
  4. Import the management database.
  5. Configure the required settings again based on the exported files.
On an Open Server / Virtual Machine, additional backup / snapshot is not supported.
On an Open Server / Virtual Machine, at least 20 GB of free disk space is required in the root partition for an Upgrade to succeed.
On an Open Server / Virtual Machine, at least 10 GB of free disk space is required in the /var/log partition for a Clean Install or Upgrade to succeed.

On an Open Server / Virtual Machine, the logging partition size is only large enough for minimum server operations.
