Installing Security Gateways
After you install the Gaia operating system, install the Security Gateways.
Installing Security Gateways on Appliances
For a list of supported appliances, see the R80.10 Release Notes.
To start the First Time Configuration Wizard on Gaia:
- Connect a standard network cable to the appliance management interface and to your management network.
- The management interface is marked .
- This interface is preconfigured with the IP address
192.168.1.1
Note - Make sure that the management interface on the computer is on the same network subnet as the appliance. For example: IP address 192.168.1.
x and Netmask 255.255.255.0
You can change the interface in the Gaia Portal, after you complete the First Time Configuration Wizard.
To configure Gaia Security Gateway appliances:
To install a Security Gateway:
- Open a browser to the Gaia Portal:
https://
<management IP address> - In the window, log in with the administrator name and password that you defined during the Gaia installation.
- The Portal shows the . Click .
- From the window, select . Click .
- From the window, enter an IPv4 address for the management interface.
If you change the management IP address, the new IP address is assigned to the interface. The old IP address is added as an alias and is used to maintain connectivity.
Optional:
- Configure an in the next window.
- From the window, enter the of the server.
Optional:
- Enter the , and IPv4 address for the .
- Set the IP Address and port for a Proxy Server.
- Click .
- Configure the manually, or enter the hostname and IPv4 address of the NTP server. Click .
- For the, select .
Optional: If you have to configure a cluster:
Click .
- From the window, answer or . Click .
- From the window, enter the that you will use later in the Security Gateway object in SmartConsole. Click .
- The window shows the selected settings for the system.
- Click .
