SmartProvisioning Wizard
When you open SmartProvisioning, the workspace contains the area, with the button. Before using the wizard, make sure that the devices have provisioning enabled but are not assigned to Provisioning Profiles.
SmartProvisioning can run one or more of these operations on provisioned devices:
- Verify each device has the software needed to support provisioning.
- Fetch each device's current configuration settings.
- Associate the selected devices with a Provisioning Profile.
Before Using the SmartProvisioning Wizard
Before you start to use the provisioning features, prepare all gateways.
- Check Point Security Gateways with one of these versions:
- Check Point NGX R65 with HFA 40 or higher
- Check Point R70 or higher
- IP Appliances:
- IPSO 6.2 operating system
- Check Point R70.40
- All gateways have a Security Policy installed
Using the SmartProvisioning Wizard
To use the SmartProvisioning wizard:
- Make sure that the section shows the applicable gateways.
- From the navigation tree, click .
- In the section, click .
- Click .
The window opens.
- Select the device type.
You can run the wizard on only one appliance or device type at a time.
The window shows the list of appliances and devices that you can assign to a Provisioning Profile.
- Select the appliances and devices that are assigned to a specified profile.
- Click .
The window opens.
- Select one or more operations for the gateways.
- To assign the gateways to a profile:
- Select .
- Select the Provisioning Profile.
You can also click and create a Provisioning Profile for the devices.
- Click .
The window opens appears.
- Click .
Installing the SmartProvisioning Agent
If you selected Verify SmartProvisioning agent is running on the device, install it if required (in the Choose Operations step), after you click Finish, the Distribute Packages window opens.
- Select the package, Check Point SmartProvisioning Agent.
The options of this window become available.
- Select Distribute and install packages and Backup image for automatic revert.
- If this device can safely be rebooted, select Allow reboot if required.
- Click Start.

Note - If the device has operational communications with SmartProvisioning, but this operation fails on Error: Run 'Get Gateway Data', and try to run this procedure again, check that an administrator is logged in.
