List of All Resolved Issues and New Features in R81.10 SmartConsole

NEW: Added ability to R81.10 Security Management Server and Multi-Domain Management Server to manage

Quantum Force 19100 / 9800 / 9700 / 9400 / 9300 / 9200 / 9100 Appliances that run R81.20 Security Gateways. Refer to sk181698 and to sk180520.

• Requires R81.10 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 141 or higher.

UPDATE: Changed the logo of the company and the Quantum Management icon.

When discarding changes made in a session in the Global Domain, the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error is displayed and SmartConsole may unexpectedly close.

NEW: Added support for Quantum Spark Appliances 1900/2000 for EA (Early Availability) customers.

UPDATE: The SmartConsole application now displays its version when hovering over it in the Windows taskbar.

UPDATE: SmartConsole truncates the output of One Time Scripts in the "Run One Time Script Details" window to 10,000 characters. Manual configuration is now available for displaying the entire output. Refer to sk181529.

After importing or deleting the SNORT protections in SmartConsole > IPS Protections view, the view does not show the change.

• Requires installing R81.10 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 131 (or higher).

When adding a route using vsx_provisioning_tool and the "interface_name" option, this route cannot be removed.

• Requires R81.10 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 113 (or higher).

In the User view, the creation/expiration date format is inconsistent.

In some scenarios, updatable objects cannot be selected in the Object Explorer view.

Desktop policy is not displayed in the results of the "where used" operation.

UPDATE: In the "Top Security Rules" tab, under the "Device & License Information" view, the column "Name" is now called "Rule number".

In some scenarios, clicking the Logs tab or a rule may cause SmartConsole to close. Refer to sk181222.

When running the Fetch branches action in the LDAP Account Unit window, non-existing branches may be removed without a warning message.

An incorrect timestamp may be shown for logs in a predefined time filter.

A disconnected Endpoint client may get rules for its state even without an initial connection when it should just get the default rules for the whole organization.

In rare scenarios, when adding an HTTPS inspection certificate in SmartConsole, a red X appears in the picker, and a "System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException" message is displayed.

UPDATE: It is no longer possible to copy-paste/drag-drop network groups in the "Installed On" column in the NAT policy view.

The 1595R package is missing in the firmware upgrade of LSM devices.

Editing settings in the Inspection Settings view is greyed out.

When selecting "This Week" in the Logs view, logs from the wrong time period may be seen. This can happen if the computer running SmartConsole is in a region where the workweek does not start on Monday.

When updating the name or comment of an Access Policy rule and scrolling down or up in the policy view, another rule may be shown as edited.

In some scenarios, when adding a new NAT rule, the selected field of the rule may appear as duplicated.

In the Logs & Monitor view, when adding free-text filters by right-clicking a field column, SmartConsole may unexpectedly close.

Under TP Profile > Threat Emulation > General > Process Specific file types > Configure, when using the search, it returns "0" although the requested word found.

In the Logs view, when clicking "Go To Rule" and it leads to a deleted rule, SmartConsole may unexpectedly close.

SmartEndpoint cannot connect to the Server. During data loading after login, an "Error during communication with the server" message is displayed.

NEW:

• Added ability for R81.10 Security Management and Multi-Domain Security Management Server to manage R81.20 Security Gateways. It requires R81.10 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 82 (or higher).

• Managing R81.20 Security Gateways in Autonomous Threat Prevention mode requires installing R81.20 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator.

Added support to search by name in Threat Prevention > IPS Prote\ctions > Core Protections > See Details.

In some scenarios, the action column cell of a rule may show the value of another rule when scrolling up or down in the Rule Base. The issue is cosmetic only.

NEW: On-premises Security Management Server can now connect to Infinity Portal. This allows:

• to run cloud services, managed in Infinity Portal, on the Security Management Server objects.

• to see a unified log view of all Check Point products: on-premises and in the cloud.

• to run Management APIs on the Security Management Server on-premises from any location through Infinity Portal.

Requires:

1. R81.10 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 93 (or higher).

2. Web SmartConsole Take 76 (or higher)

SmartConsole may unexpectedly close when pasting an extremely long search query in the Logs view.

Adding a virtual computer group to a user policy, which is already assigned to many other computer groups, may fail with the "Cannot assign computer group to User Policy" error.

UPDATE: Added the new logo of Check Point.

• SMB Firmware upgrade may start without publishing the session.

• If the session is not published, the new LSM profile after the upgrade is not updated.

In the Threat Policy view, when choosing a profile for a rule, if the number of IPS profiles is bigger than 28, the drop-down menu extends beyond the screen, and it is not possible to see all profiles. Refer to sk177167.

In Security Policies, in the Access Control Rule Base, when entering a rule number and clicking "Go to Rule", the view may not change to display the selected rule.

Removed the IPS check box from Virtual Router settings in SmartConsole. This is a cosmetic fix.

UPDATE: Improved the style of the Rule base to make the border between layers clearer.

UPDATE: Updated the VSX Creation wizard.

The expiration date may not be shown in User objects.

In the Logs & Monitor view, in the right-click menu of a log record, the Action list in the Custom Commands window is empty. Refer to sk177885.

When trying to navigate from the "Where Used" window to an object which is used in a nested inline layer, the "Failed to go to the requested rule" error is shown.

NEW: Identity Collector now supports Quantum Spark appliances (1500/1600/1800 series).

UPDATE: The Log4net library is updated to version 2.0.12.

Trying to delete a cluster member without a valid cluster fails with a "<Cluster member name> can be deleted by editing the Cluster" message. Refer to sk116130.

NEW: SmartConsole is now translated to Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Spanish, and French (France).

To change the SmartConsole language:

1. Go to the MANAGE & SETTINGS view > Preferences > Language
2. Select the language
3. Close SmartConsole
4. Open SmartConsole

In the Shared Policies section, under the Security Policies view, it is possible to select different options for Geo Policy, even when the mouse cursor is hovering over their lines and is not located in the radio button/checkbox itself. Refer to sk175748.

SmartConsole may unexpectedly close when the user opens the Global Assignment view after doing the "Solr Cure" procedure. Refer to sk175443.

SmartConsole may close unexpectedly when configuring Threat Emulation settings for a Small Office LSM Profile object.

Deleting the RADIUS group object named "Radius-Group" may fail with "Failed to delete object - Object 'Radius-Group' is used by a policy or by other objects". Refer to sk176824.

After disabling Compliance Best Practices, the user receives security alerts.

• Requires R81.10 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 38 (or higher).

Removing all Gateways that belong to a Domain from a Global VPN Community may cause SmartConsole to unexpectedly close when trying to open the Global VPN Community object.

NEW: Added Multi-Domain Server (MDS) level support for exporting data from the Gateways and Servers view into a CSV file.

UPDATE: Changed the login method to Smart-1 Cloud. For instructions, refer to Infinity Portal or Quantum Smart-1 Cloud Administration Guide.

UPDATE: Removed the "Upgrade management" and "Launch IP appliance" buttons from SmartUpdate.

In scenarios with more than 100 gateway objects, some views may not show some gateways or display some of them as duplicates.

In some scenarios, default policies are not fully enforced when the client is in the disconnected state.

Compliance report in SmartConsole shows incorrect policy name.

In rare scenarios, SmartConsole freezes when clicking on "System History" on Cluster or Gateway object.

NEW: Added support for SAML authentication method for Remote Access VPN. Refer to sk172909 for configuration instructions.
