"Underlay" SD-WAN Dashboard

The "Underlay" SD-WAN Dashboard has these parts:

  • The Overview view appears at the beginning of the dashboard.

    Helps identify issues immediately.

  • The Per Security Gateway view allows users to drill down to understand the root cause and take corrective action.

Variable

Description

1

Gateway Name

Shows the Security Gateway name as it is received from the Management Server.

Allows filtering by specific Security Gateways.

2

ISP Name

The ISP name configured in Check Point Portal.

Allows filtering by specific ISPs.

3

Steering Policy UUID

Shows the steering policy UUID.

Allows filtering by specific steering policy IDs.

4

Steering Object (name)

Shows the steering object (behavior).

Allows filtering by specific Object names.

5

Gateway (peer_ip)

Shows the IP address of the Security Gateway's tunnel peer.

Allows filtering by specific peer IP addresses.

6

Gateway (main_peer_ip)

Shows the main IP address of the Security Gateway's remote peer.

Allows filtering by specific peer main IP addresses.

7

Gateway Counter

Shows the number of Security Gateways that will be presented in the "Number of Gateways Seen" in the "Link Swaps by GW" and "Current Gateways health score".

Widget

Description

1

Total Gateways

Gateways Up

Gateways Down

This counter shows:

  • The total number of Security Gateways.

This counter shows the data for the last 5 days.

  • How many Security Gateways are Up.

This counter shows the data for the last 5 minutes.

  • How many Security Gateways are Down.

    This counter shows the difference:

(The total number of Security Gateways) minus (Security Gateways are Up)

2

Link Swap | Total

Shows the number of times links have changed their status from selected to not selected with the sampling rate of 10 seconds (if a link has swapped twice in 10 seconds, the swap will not be accounted for).

3

Physical Links - UP

Shows the number of physical links that have the status UP on all the Security Gateways.

4

Physical Links - Down

Shows the number of physical links that have the status DOWN on all the Security Gateways.

5

Overlay Tunnels - Up

Shows the number of tunnels that have the status "UP" on all the Security Gateways.

6

Overlay Tunnels - DOWN

Shows the number of tunnels that have the status "DOWN" on all the Security Gateways.

7

Link Swap by GW

Shows the top <X> Security Gateways with the greatest number of link swaps.

The number <X> is the value of the Security Gateway counter variable.

The default is 5.

8

Gateway Underlay Health Score

Shows the Security Gateway health score from 1 to 100.

The score is based on the quality of the probing values received on all the Security Gateway interfaces for each steering object.

The Security Gateways shown are the bottom <X> Security Gateways.

The number <X> is the value of the Security Gateway counter variable.

The default is 5.

9

Map View

Shows the Security Gateways on a map.

This map changes the color of Security Gateways based on their status:

  • Link status

  • CPU utilization

  • RAM utilization

  • Underlay Score

  • Overlay Score

You can hover over the Security Gateway to see its:

  • Status

  • Underlay Score

  • Overlay Score

  • Link swaps

  • CPU utilization

  • RAM utilization

  • Percentage of tunnels that are UP

  • Number of ISPs that are UP

  • Number of ISPs that are DOWN

  • Throughput

10

Alerts list

Shows the current active alerts in the system.

11

SLA Status

Shows the Security Gateway SLA status.

The color can change based on the status.

The status can be:

  • Excellent - All the ISPs met the required threshold for all the Steering objects that are probing the destination.

  • Good -At least one of the connected ISPs did not meet the required threshold for at least one of the Steering objects that is probing the destination.

  • Poor - None of the ISPs met the required threshold for at least one of the Steering objects that is probing the destination.

  • Down - None of the connected ISPs can communicate with at least one of the Steering objects probing that is the destination.

12

Steering Object counter

Shows the number of steering behaviors defined for all Security Gateways.

13

Link Swap

This graph shows the number of link swaps occurred on the top 20 gateway over time.

14

Gateway Underlay Health Score

This graph shows the Security Gateways Underlay health score over time.

Gateway SLA Status

2

Link Swaps by Steering Object

Shows the link swap count on a Security Gateway per steering object.

3

Steering Objects - Table

Shows the available steering behaviors on a Security Gateway, the selected link, and the probing results for each policy.

4

Tunnel Status

Shows the available tunnels and their statuses.

5

Link QOE Score

Shows the quality of the link from 1 to 5 over time.

The score is based on the MOS score of each of the steering objects on that link.

This helps identify issues related to the link.
