Updating the CPUSE Deployment Agent

Warnings

It is not supported to install a lower build of the CPUSE Deployment Agent over the current build (downgrading the CPUSE Deployment Agent is not supported).
The procedures below do not apply to Scalable Platforms R81.20 and lower.

For these versions, you must refer to the corresponding Administration Guides to the instructions to upgrade the CPUSE Deployment Agent on the Security Group:
- R81.20 Quantum Maestro Administration Guide > Chapter "Upgrading Maestro to R81.20".
- R81.20 Quantum Scalable Chassis Administration Guide > Chapter "Upgrading Scalable Chassis to R81.20".
- R81.10 Quantum Maestro Administration Guide > Chapter "Upgrading Maestro to R81.10".
- R81.10 Quantum Scalable Chassis Administration Guide > Chapter "Upgrading Scalable Chassis to R81.10".

Automatic Update of the CPUSE Deployment Agent

If a Gaia server is connected to the Internet, it automatically updates the CPUSE Deployment Agent to the latest available build (unless you disabled this default behavior in CPUSE settings - see CPUSE Update Settings).

If a Gaia server is not connected to the Internet, you can always manually install the latest available build of the CPUSE Deployment Agent.

Best Practice - Always upgrade the CPUSE Deployment Agent to the latest available build.

Manual Update of the CPUSE Deployment Agent in Gaia Portal

With a web browser, connect to Gaia Portal at:

https://<IP address of Gaia Management Interface>

If you changed the default port of Gaia Portal from 443, then you must also enter it (https://<IP address>:<Port>).

Important - On Scalable Platforms (Maestro and Chassis), you must connect to the Gaia Portal of the applicable Security Group.

In the left navigation tree, click Software Updates > Available Updates.

In the top left, click Update settings.

In the section Deployment Agent, see the current build of the CPUSE Deployment Agent.

Download the latest CPUSE Deployment Agent package from sk92449 to your computer.

In the section Deployment Agent, click Update Deployment Agent.

Click Browse for a file.

Select the CPUSE Deployment Agent TGZ package (DeploymentAgent_<build>.tgz) on your computer.

Click Install DA.

Follow the instructions on the screen.

Manual Update of the CPUSE Deployment Agent in Gaia Clish / Gaia gClish

Connect to the command line on the Gaia server.

Important - On Scalable Platforms (Maestro and Chassis), you must run the applicable commands in Gaia gClish of the applicable Security Group.

If your default shell is the Expert mode, then go to Gaia Clish:

clish

On Scalable Platforms, go to Gaia gClish:

Type gclish and press Enter.

If you enabled MDPS (sk138672) on the Security Gateway / Cluster Members / Scalable Platform, then go to the Management Plane:

set mdps environment mplane

Get the current build of the CPUSE Deployment Agent:

show installer status build

Download the latest CPUSE Deployment Agent package from sk92449 to your computer.

Transfer the latest CPUSE Deployment Agent package (DeploymentAgent_<build>.tgz) from your computer to the Gaia server to some directory (for example, /var/log/).

Install the CPUSE Deployment Agent package:

installer agent install /<Full Path>/DeploymentAgent_<build>.tgz

Follow the instructions on the screen.
