Goal

Experience Harmony Mobile’s restriction of access to corporate resources from a compliant device.

Connect to the UbuntuVM

Use Keyboard -> ‘Send Passwordoption

Launch the emulator’s desktop shortcut :

"Emulator"

Click the "DISMISS "pop up message

If mobile device screen is turned-off, click on Power button to turn it on

: Pull the screen up with a mouse, enter 0000 and Click Enter to unlock the phone

Launch the Harmony Mobile application from the home screen.

You’ll immediately notice three detected threats. According to the configured security policy this mobile device is “High Risk compromised” and prevented from accessing corporate resources. A Corporate Access Blocked warning is clearly shown at the top of the application.

Click on the “3 THREATS DETECTED” circle to review the threats

Let’s check that access to a corporate resource web page is indeed blocked.

On the bottom right of the control panel click on the ‘home’ button and open the corporate resource link.

Note - Notice that access to the corporate resource web page is blocked.

The corporate security policy is set to block corporate access while the device is considered as High Risk.

The security administrator has implemented this policy through the Harmony Mobile management portal.

Note - The VPN key icon at the top of the protected device; Harmony Mobile uses a loopback connection to locally scan the traffic direction and to enforce the relevant policy.

Now the user wants to mitigate the detected threats.

Launch the Harmony Mobile application, choose to continue security scan in the background,

1. Click on the “3 THREATS DETECTED” circle.

2. Click UNINSTALL for the Fing application and follow the instructions.

3. Click DELETE FILES to remove malicious file from device storage

The High risk events were remediated

Device is allowed now to access corporate resources. Click the Backarrow.

Launch the Harmony Mobile application and scan again if it is not done automatically.

You will have a single yellow threat for malicious SMS detected

Go to the home screen and open the corporate resource link again

See that the web page is loaded and access to a corporate resource is allowed.

We’ll remediate now the phishing SMS event. Navigate back to Harmony Mobile application and

And click on OPEN MESSAGE

In the opened messages application, click the three dots and choose Delete.

Delete the conversation containing malicious link.

OpenHarmony Mobileapplication and see the medium alert is gone. Harmony Mobile application shows green status
