Configuring Automatic Hotspot Detection

You can configure the clients to automatically detect hotspots and open an embedded browser for quick registration.

To enable hotspot registration from the configuration file:

1. Edit the $FWDIR/conf/trac_client_1.ttm file on the Security Gateway.

2. Change these parameters:

   :hotspot_detection_enabled (

   :gateway (

   :default (true)

   )

   )

   :hotspot_registration_enabled (

   :gateway (

   :default (false)

   )

   }

   Where:

Parameter	Default	Description
hotspot_detection_enabled	true	Enables (true) or disables (false) hotspot detection.
hotspot_registration_enabled	false	Allows (true) or prevents (false) a user to get a hotspot registration page (in an embedded browser).

1. Save the file.

2. Install the policy on this Security Gateway.

   When clients download the new policy from the Security Gateway, configuration changes are applied.
