Configuring Router Discovery in Gaia Clish

Important - In a ClusterClosed Two or more Security Gateways that work together in a redundant configuration - High Availability, or Load Sharing., you must configure all the Cluster Members in the same way.

Description

{off | on}

Disables (off) or enables (on) the ICMP Router Discovery on the interface.

adv-lifetime {<Lifetime > | default}

Optional.

Configures how long an advertised address remains valid in the absence of an update message.

This value must not be less than the configured max-adv-interval.

The configured value is placed in the "Lifetime" field of Route Advertisement messages sent on this interface.

Range: 5-9000 seconds

Default: 3 x (Value of max-adv-interval) seconds

advertise <IP Address>

Specifies whether this interface IP address should be advertised in ICMP Router Discovery advertisement messages.

The specified IP address must be a valid interface IP address for the interface.

Notes:

  • If you change the IP address assigned to this interface, you must use this command to update the ICMP Router Discovery configuration on the interface. Otherwise, ICMP Router Discovery is disabled for the interface.

  • You must configure at least one valid interface IP address. Otherwise, ICMP Router Discovery is disabled for the interface.

  • By default, all IPv4 addresses associated with the interface are advertised.

advertise <IP Address> {off | on}

Disables (off) or enables (on) the advertising of the specified IP address for the interface.

preference {<0-2147483647> | ineligible}

Optional.

Configures the preference of the address as a default router IP address, relative to other router IP addresses on the same subnet.

Higher numeric values indicate greater preference.

Range: 0-2147483647, or ineligible (indicates that the IP address should not be used as a default IP address)

Default: 0

max-adv-interval {<4-1800> | default}

Optional.

Configures the maximum time between sending ICMP Router Discovery advertisements on the interface.

This value cannot be less than the configured min-adv-interval.

Range: 4-1800 seconds

Default: 600 seconds

min-adv-interval {<3-1799> | default}

Optional.

Configures the minimum time between sending ICMP Router Discovery advertisements on the interface.

This value cannot be larger than the configured max-adv-interval.

Range: 3-1799 seconds

Default: 0.75 x (Value of max-adv-interval) seconds
