VSX Architecture and Concepts

A VSX Gateway is a physical machine that hosts virtual networks of Virtual Devices, with the functionality of their physical network counterparts such as Security Gateways, routers, and switches.

A VSX Gateway handles these tasks:

• Communicates with the Management Server to deploy, configure, and manage all Virtual Devices.

• Manages state synchronization for High Availability and for Load Sharing in cluster deployments.

Note - In Security Groups in (Undefined variable: Vars_ScalablePlatforms.tp_maestro) and (Undefined variable: Vars_ScalablePlatforms.tp_scalable_chassis): The term VSX Gateway means a Security Group in the VSX mode. Some VSX features have a limited or no support.
