What background information do I need to know?

DCE RPC is a protocol for calling a procedure on a remote machine as if it were a local procedure call. The protocol uses a Universal Unique Identifier (UUID) to connect remote machine Interfaces and operates over TCP/IP and UDP/IP transports.

• Interface UUID - identifies the Universal Unique Identifier (UUID) to which the requested service belongs. An interface is a set of remotely callable operations offered by a server and invokable by clients.
• Keep connections open after policy has been installed - keeps all control and data connections open until the connections have ended, even if they are not allowed under the new policy. This overrides the settings in the Connection Persistence page. If you change this property, the change will not affect open connections, but only future connections.
