Configuring the Multi-Version Cluster Mechanism

Description

This command changes the state of the Multi-Version ClusterClosed The Multi-Version Cluster mechanism lets you synchronize connections between cluster members that run different versions. This lets you upgrade to a newer version without a loss in connectivity and lets you test the new version on some of the cluster members before you decide to upgrade the rest of the cluster members. Acronym: MVC. (MVC) Mechanism - enable or disable it.

Important:

  • The MVC Mechanism is disabled by default.

Enables the MVC Mechanism on this ClusterClosed Two or more Security Gateways that work together in a redundant configuration - High Availability, or Load Sharing. Member.

Notes:

  • This command does not provide an output. To view the current state of the MVC Mechanism, see Viewing the State of the Multi-Version Cluster Mechanism.

  • The change made with this command survives reboot.

  • If a specific scenario requires you to disable the MVC Mechanism before the first start of an R80.40 Cluster Member (for example, immediately after an upgrade to R80.40), then disable it before the first policy installation on this Cluster Member.
