Configuring the IP Address of the Gaia Management Interface

Important - The default GaiaClosed Check Point security operating system that combines the strengths of both SecurePlatform and IPSO operating systems. Management InterfaceClosed (1) Interface on a Gaia Security Gateway or Cluster member, through which Management Server connects to the Security Gateway or Cluster member. (2) Interface on Gaia computer, through which users connect to Gaia Portal or CLI. on Scalable Platforms is eth1-Mgmt4.

The Gaia Management Interface is pre-configured with the IP address 192.168.1.1.

You can change this IP address during or after you run the Gaia First Time Configuration Wizard.

If you must access the Scalable Platform over the network, assign the applicable IP address to that interface before you connect the Scalable Platform to the network.

If you change the IP address of the Gaia Management Interface during the First Time Configuration Wizard, this warning appears:

Your IP address has been changed. In order to maintain the browser connection, the old IP address will be retained as a secondary IP address.

Configuring the IP Address in Gaia Portal

In your web browser, connect the Gaia PortalClosed Web interface for the Check Point Gaia operating system. to the current IP address of the Gaia management interface:

https://<IP Address of Gaia Management Interface>

In the left navigation tree, go to Network Management > Network Interfaces.

In the Management Interface section, click Set Management Interface.

Select one of these interfaces:

  • eth1-Mgmt1

  • eth1-Mgmt2

  • eth1-Mgmt3

  • eth1-Mgmt4

Click OK.

In the Interfaces section, select the Management Interface and click Edit.

Assign the applicable IP address.

Click OK.

Connect to the command line on the Scalable Platform in one of these ways:

  • Over SSH to the current IP address of the Gaia Management Interface

  • Over a console to an SGM

Get the name of the current Gaia Management Interface:

show management interface

Select another Gaia Management Interface:

set management interface <Interface Name>

Select one of these interfaces:

  • eth1-Mgmt1

  • eth1-Mgmt2

  • eth1-Mgmt3

  • eth1-Mgmt4

Assign another IP address to the Gaia Management Interface:

set interface <Interface Name> ipv4-address <IPv4 address> subnet-mask <Mask>

Save the changes in the Gaia database:

save config
