Certificate Authority

If this machine is configured as Security Management Server, it runs Check Point Internal Certificate Authority.

You can reset the Internal Certificate Authority.

Note - Resetting the Internal Certificate Authority requires reissuing all internal certificates in SmartConsole for VPN, users and portals.

Resetting the Certificate Authority - Gaia Portal

  1. In the navigation tree, click System Management > Certificate Authority.
  2. Click Reset.

Changing the Name of the Internal Certificate Authority - Expert Mode

Note - You must run these commands from Expert mode.

Procedure 1

  1. Connect to the command line on Gaia.
  2. Log in to Expert mode.
  3. Run:

    cp_conf ca fqdn <New Name for ICA>

  4. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Procedure 2

  1. Connect to the command line on Gaia.
  2. Log in to Expert mode.
  3. Run:

    cpconfig

  4. Select the option Certificate Authority.

    This output shows:

    Configuring Certificate Authority...

    ====================================

    The Internal CA is initialized with the following name: XXX

     

    Do you want to change it (y/n) [n] ?

  5. Enter y

    This output shows:

    Please enter the name of this Internal CA:

  6. Enter the new name for Internal CA.
  7. Follow the instructions on the screen.
