SSM160 Ports in a 2-SSM Deployment

These are interface names in the initial setup program. Replace X with the SSM number

1 port for direct access through LAN

1 port for direct access through console (serial)

2 x 40GbE QSFP data ports.

Use a QSFP splitter to split each of the two QSFP ports to 4 x 10GbE.
When using a QSFP splitter the interface names are:

  • SSM1 left QSFP port: eth1-09 to eth1-12
  • SSM1 left QSFP port: eth1-13 to eth1-16
  • SSM2 right QSFP port: eth2-09 to eth2-12
  • SSM2 right QSFP port: eth2-13 to eth2-16

7 x 10GbE SFP+ data ports

Can use 1GbE or 10GbE transceivers

In SmartDashboard, define used interfaces as internal or external.

1 x 10 GbE SFP+ synchronization port

Use for connecting to and synchronizing with another 41000 Security System that functions as a high availability peer.

  • 10 GbE SFP+ port
  • Interface names are eth1-Sync for SSM1 and eth2-sync for SSM2.

2x 10GbE SFP+ management and logging ports.

  • Connect these ports to the management/logging network. Security Management Server or dedicated logging servers should be accessible from these interfaces.

In the 41000 Security System initial setup program, these interfaces are labeled:

  • SSM1: eth1-Mgmt1, eth1-Mgmt2
  • SSM2: eth2-Mgmt1, eth2-Mgmt2
