The currently Active Chassis stays Active unless it goes DOWN or the Standby Chassis has a higher Chassis quality grade.

Chassis 1 stays is always Active unless it goes DOWN or the Standby Chassis has a higher Chassis quality grade.

Active/Standby - Primary UP Chassis 2

Chassis 2 is always Active unless it goes DOWN or the Standby Chassis has a higher Chassis quality grade.

Active/Active - Layer 2

Both Chassis handle traffic and connections between both Chassis are synchronized.
