List of All Resolved Issues and New Features in R82 SmartConsole

NEW: Added support for the Spark Firewall 1585R appliances in the EA (Early Availability) program.

UPDATE: In the Policy Auditor, the "Recalculate" button automatically publishes the current session and does not require manual publishing first.

UPDATE: LDAP Account Unit editor enhancements: Resizable LDAP Account Unit dialog and faster host selection in LDAP Server Properties.

UPDATE: Unsupported objects such as "Аny" are now not listed in the pickers in the Source, Destination, and Service columns of the SASE rulebase, and cannot be selected.

After an upgrade, querying IPS Staging Protections in SmartConsole fails with the "Cannot show logs of over 1500 unique protections" message. Refer to sk184398.

NEW: Policy Auditor is a policy analytics and auditing tool that gives visibility on real traffic behavior in the user's network. In SmartConsole > Security Policies > Access Control, Policy Auditor presents a matrix view that divides the network into logical segments. The tool allows administrators to audit these security rules and verify that they align with organizational policies and segmentation requirements.

UPDATE: The Where Used feature in SmartConsole was previously limited to 500 objects. It now displays the total number of usages. Refer to sk184462.

An incorrect number of Security Gateways is displayed in the IPS, Anti-Bot, and Anti-Virus Updates window if more than 100 Security Gateways are configured on the Security Management Server. Refer to sk184038.

In the Network Management tab of the Security Gateway Editor, after clicking the "Get Interfaces" button and retrieving interface information, selecting an interface and clicking "Edit" may open an incorrect interface object.

When the Mobile Access Blade Portal accessibility is set to "According to the Firewall policy", opening the MAB Portal settings and navigating away, without making changes, triggers an error message "Accessibility according to the Firewall policy can be configured for only one portal at a time. It is already configured for the Platform portal. To configure Accessibility according to the Firewall policy for the Mobile Access portal, you must first choose another accessibility option for the Platform portal".

When the "Hide Identities" option is enabled, right-clicking the User column and selecting "Add to Filter" still reveals the actual username.

In the Logs & Monitor view, loading URL Filtering/Application Access Control logs with an empty application name starts and stops multiple times, but no logs are retrieved.

Although the "Hide Identities" option is enabled, right-clicking the User column and selecting "Copy to Clipboard" still copies the actual usernames, and when pasted into a notepad application, the usernames are visible.

In SmartConsole, when viewing the Sessions page, if another user logs in at the same time, the page status may change to "Disconnected" and stop displaying the session list.

UPDATE: Check Point response to CVE-2023-38546. A Curl flaw lets attackers inject cookies into programs using libcurl when specific conditions align.

In some scenarios, when opening the Security Policies tab, SmartConsole may unexpectedly close.

UPDATE: SmartTasks are now supported in the System Domain of Multi-Domain Security Management. This feature enables the automation of system-domain operations, reducing manual tasks and enhancing reliability. Refer to R82 Quantum Security Management Administration Guide > Preferences and Management Settings > SmartTasks.

In Gateways & Servers view, Cluster Members may not appear under the related Cluster Object.

UPDATE: The Management object will now show the information about the Policy Insights feature.

NEW: Added support for the Quantum Spark 2500 appliances (2530, 2550, 2560, 2570, and 2580) in the EA (Early Availability) program.

In some scenarios, revoking an expired Administrator certificate in SmartConsole fails with the "Revoking certificate failed" error.

Deleting a Cluster Member object in SmartConsole, in the Gateways & Servers view, fails with "Failed to remove object XXXX. Server error is: Object XXXX is locked by another session".

UPDATE: The error "An operation performed on more than 200 protections is not supported" appears in SmartConsole under Security Policies > Threat Prevention > Custom Policy Tools > IPS Protections tab when using CTRL+A to select all items, then right-clicking and choosing "Prevent Selected", "Detect Selected", or "Inactive Selected".

This limitation is by design. The error message is now updated to "Selecting all items with the CTRL+A keys is not supported" for better clarity.

In some scenarios, when opening SmartConsole, the Gateways & Servers view displays the default columns instead of preserving the previously selected columns.

In VSNext mode, the Platform Portal option in the Gateway object navigation bar may not be visible.

NEW: Added support for using Network Groups in the "Install On" column in the NAT Policy view.

UPDATE: When the versioning feature flag is present, the Policy Insight button and tabs display according to Web SmartConsole command parameters. Otherwise, they appear using the legacy display logic.

UPDATE: The "Report Log to Check Point" option will no longer appear on Log cards. Refer to sk183026.

UPDATE: CME (Cloud Management Extension) is now integrated into SmartConsole, Web SmartConsole, and Smart-1 Cloud. This integration facilitates cloud-native connectivity between Check Point CloudGuard Network solutions and various cloud platforms.

UPDATE: The side pane of AI Copilot and objects now has a minimum width and cannot be reduced further. You can still close the pane by clicking the buttons on the side or top.

When selecting a rule in the Rule Base, the Logs tab at the bottom of the window may appear empty or display its content improperly.

In SmartConsole, in the Quantum Spark Cluster object, it is possible to configure an invalid subnet mask when editing the interfaces manually in the Topology table.

Configuring "Enhanced Link Selection" method may cause SmartConsole crash when adding a Next Hop IPv6 Address with specific masks.

When opening the Licenses tab, an unclear message may be printed "The service is not available".

When the Security Management has an additional NAT configuration in the SD-WAN policy (Infinity Portal), an indicating banner may not appear in SmartConsole NAT Rule Base. This is a cosmetic issue.

When opening an Identity Provider object multiple times in SmartConsole, the view may display no data until SmartConsole is restarted. Refer to sk182620.

When fetching users from the LDAP Server and the Server that contains no users to fetch, Legacy SmartDashboard displays a misleading error message "SmartDashboard not able to connect to XXXX".
