Using Zero Touch for Spark Management

Zero Touch Overview

Zero Touch simplifies the deployment of Spark Gateways in Spark Management.

When you connect a new Gateway or reset an existing Gateway to factory defaults, the Gateway automatically connects to Spark Management and retrieves the configuration from there.

With Zero Touch, you can:

  • Deploy Gateways with minimal on-site involvement.

  • Apply consistent security policies across all managed Gateways.

  • Reduce manual configuration tasks.

  • Maintain clear visibility of your Gateway inventory in the Spark Management application.

  • Support Managed Service Provider (MSSP/MSP) hierarchical account structures.

Zero Touch is designed for large-scale and multi-tenant environments that require centralized and consistent control.

Example Use Case

An MSP wants to deploy multiple Spark Gateways across customer sites.

Instead of sending a technician to each location, the MSP preconfigures Plans and accounts and assigns Gateways in Spark Management. Local personnel only need to connect the appliances to a power supply and to the Internet.

Each Gateway automatically connects to Spark Management, retrieves its configuration, and becomes operational in minutes. This approach reduces deployment time, minimizes configuration errors, and ensures consistent configuration across all customer environments.

Key Terms

  • Undeployed Gateways – Gateways that are not yet fully managed in Spark Management.

  • Unassigned Gateways – Gateways that exist in your inventory but are not associated with an account and a Plan in Spark Management. These Gateways can utilize Zero Touch only after assignment.

  • Pending Activation Gateways – Gateways that are assigned but not yet fully onboarded.

Prerequisites

  • You must connect User Center accounts to your Check Point Portal account. Click here for instructions.

  • The Gateway inventory must originate from connected User Center accounts with valid Spark licenses.

Limitations

  • Unlicensed appliances are not supported.

  • The maximum number of Gateways that can be assigned at one time is 1,000.

  • Connecting several User Center accounts with multiple Spark Firewall appliances may take several minutes for the first time sync.
