Managing Licenses

In the Plans tab, select a Plan instance and navigate to the License page. The Spark Management admin can configure the license type per Plan or Gateway:

  • Subscription - A pre-paid yearly subscription purchased through your distributor. Standard license plan with an expiration date.

  • Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) - You are charged only for the days that a specific device is in active use.

Note - You can also configure a single Gateway for PAYG when it is Unlocked from plan.

Enabling Pay-As-You-Go Licensing

This section explains how a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) enables Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) licensing for its customer accounts in Quantum Spark Management. The MSSP initiates PAYG activation on the Infinity Portal Manage Accounts page. Then, the MSSP or the administrator completes the process in Quantum Spark Management.

PAYG replaces the subscription licenses. On PAYG, the number of active Gateways is counted daily and the MSSP is billed monthly only for active Gateways.

Prerequisites

  • The Infinity Portal account must be an MSSP account or an MSSP child account.

Important - When the MSSP shares a plan with PAYG enabled with a child account, the MSSP must confirm in the Infinity Portal that the child account has an active PAYG contract.

  • PAYG is supported on Gateways running R82.00.00 or higher.

  • The user must have administrator access to the Infinity Portal and Quantum Spark Management.

Creating a Pay-As-You-Go Contract in the Infinity Portal

To add or enable a PAYG contract for an MSSP account:

Refer to the instructions in the Infinity Portal MSSP Administration Guide (Section: Managed Security Service Provider Partners and Distributors > Pay-As-You-Go Contracts).

Enabling Pay-As-You-Go in Quantum Spark Management:

Note - Your MSSP administrator must first enable PAYG for your account in the Infinity Portal. You can then select the Gateways assigned to PAYG through the Plan or Gateway in Quantum Spark Management.

To view your PAYG usage:

  1. To view the usage report on the License page, click service and contracts.

  2. To view all Gateways that are assigned to this Plan but running older versions and therefore cannot use PAYG licensing, on the License page, click View Gateways.

Note - This option does not appear when all Gateways are running R82 or higher.

To change from PAYG licensing to Subscription:

  1. Select Subscription.

  2. The Select Subscription Licensing confirmation window appears. Click Confirm.

To check the licensing status of each Gateway:

  2. The License type column is hidden by default. To display, click the column selector in the upper-left corner of the Gateways list and enable License type.

  3. Click the filter icon to filter by specific license type.
