Understanding Control Toggles on Gateways and Plans
Quantum Spark Management provides toggle switches that define where and how specific configuration topics (for example, Application & URL Filtering, IoT, and IPS) are managed.
This section explains the functionality of the three available toggles:

The "Manage in SMP" toggle controls whether a specific configuration topic is managed centrally through Quantum Spark Management or locally on the Gateway device.
When enabled (ON):
-
The configuration topic is managed through Quantum Spark Management.
-
The settings on the Gateway's local WebUI are locked and cannot be modified.
-
All changes must be made through Quantum Spark Management.
When disabled (OFF):.
-
All management is through the local WebUI and is editable. The configuration is no longer managed through Quantum Spark Management and is instead handled locally on the device through the WebUI.
Note - To edit a topic on the Gateway device, first consider using the "Unlock from Plan" toggle to customize the configuration through Quantum Spark Management without disabling central management. If local edits are still required, disable the "Manage in SMP" toggle for that topic to unlock it on the local WebUI.

-
The "Enable" toggle activates or deactivates a specific configuration topic. It does not control where the configuration is managed.
-
Turn this toggle ON to activate the topic, such as Application & URL Filtering, IoT, and IPS.
-
This toggle is available only when the "Manage in SMP" toggle is turned ON.

Notes:
|
The "Unlock from Plan" toggle allows overriding a plan-level configuration for a specific topic in a specific Gateway object, while still maintaining central management through Quantum Spark Management.
-
Purpose: Customize the configuration of a specific topic (such as URL Filtering or Access Policy) for one Gateway without affecting the plan to which other Gateways are assigned.
-
Effect: The selected topic becomes editable for that Gateway in Quantum Spark Management. However, the configuration remains locked on the local WebUI.
