Introduction to Browser Security

Browser Security protects organizations from web-based threats by enforcing security controls directly within supported browsers. As the primary interface for cloud applications, file sharing, and GenAI platforms, the browser is a critical control point, making it essential for preventing data loss and blocking exposure to malicious content.

Browser Security helps organizations:

To use Browser Security, follow these steps:

  1. Register to the Check Point Portal (see Creating an Account in the Check Point Portal).

  2. Access the Browser Security Administrator Portal (see Accessing the Browser Security Administrator Portal).

  3. Download the Browser Security clients (see Downloading Browser Security Client).

  4. Create the Browser Security policies (see Configuring Browser Security Policy).

Browser Security Capabilities

Browser Security policy management is built on three independent but complementary control layers:

  • Access Control - Defines which websites, applications, categories, or GenAI platforms users are permitted to access.

  • Secure Browsing - Controls in browser protections such as phishing prevention, password reuse protection, safe search, and safe reputation.

  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) - Prevents sensitive data from being exposed during web interactions, covering actions like uploads, downloads, paste, and copy.

Each capability has its own policy set and ruleClosed Set of traffic parameters and other conditions in a Rule Base (Security Policy) that cause specified actions to be taken for a communication session. evaluation logic -all sharing a consistent rule framework.
