CLI Syntax Quick Reference

This section provides a summary of CLI command for the Central Deployment Tool operation modes.

Notes for Multi-Domain Server:

  1. # mdsenv <IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>

    • In the Basic Mode:

      # ./CentralDeploymentTool <options> <IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>

    • In the Advanced Mode and the RMA Mode:

      # ./CentralDeploymentTool <options> -server=<IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>

CLI Syntax Quick Reference for the Basic Mode

# ./CentralDeploymentTool [-h | --help]

# ./CentralDeploymentTool –generate <Desired Name of Candidates List File>.csv [<IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>]

# ./CentralDeploymentTool -preparations <Name of Candidates List File>.csv [<IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>]

# ./CentralDeploymentTool -extended_preparations <Name of Candidates List File>.csv [<IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>]

# ./CentralDeploymentTool -install <Name of Candidates List File>.csv [<IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>]

Note - The CDT writes the progress details at 5 seconds intervals to these log files in the directory of the CentralDeploymentTool binary file.

# watch -d cat CDT_status.txt

# watch -d cat CDT_status_brief.txt

Note - You must run this command in a new SSH shell.

# ./CentralDeploymentTool -retry [<IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>]

CLI Syntax Quick Reference for the Advanced Mode

# ./CentralDeploymentTool -generate -candidates=<Name of Candidates List File>.csv -deploymentplan=<Name of Deployment Plan File>.xml [-server=<IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>]

# ./CentralDeploymentTool -generate -candidates=<Name of Candidates List File>.csv -deploymentplan=<Name of Deployment Plan File>.xml -filter=<Name of Filter File> [-server=<IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>]

# ./CentralDeploymentTool -execute -candidates=<Name of Candidates List File>.csv -deploymentplan=<Name of Deployment Plan File>.xml [-server=<IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>]

# ./CentralDeploymentTool -rma -backup [-additional_files=<Path to and Name of File with the List of Additional Files>] -candidates=<Name of Candidates List File>.csv [-server=<IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>]

# ./CentralDeploymentTool -rma -backupall [-additional_files=<Path to and Name of File with the List of Additional Files>] [-server=<IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>]
