Important:

  • Read the Health and Safety Information in the Getting Started Guide for your Security Appliance.

  • To protect the Security Appliance and transceivers from electrostatic discharge, make sure that you are grounded.

  • We recommend that you use an ESD grounding wrist strap.

    Connect the grounding plug on the wrist strap to the chassis grounding point.

Note - Check Point Security Appliances only support transceivers sold by Check Point.

Note - You can use these mixed configurations of transceivers and cards:

  • 1 GbE copper and 1 GbE fiber optic transceivers with the 1 GbE SFP card

  • 10 GbE copper and 10 GbE fiber optic transceivers with the 10 GbE SFP+ card

  • 25 GbE copper and 25 GbE fiber optic transceivers with the 25 GbE SFP28 card

  • 40 GbE copper and 40 GbE fiber optic transceivers with the 40 GbE QSFP+ card

  • 100 GbE copper and 100 GbE fiber optic transceivers with the 100 GbE QSFP28 card

Note - To support the 25 GbE SFP28 transceiver module in the QSFP slot, you must use the 10/25 GbE Adapter (CPAC-TR-QSFP28-SFP28) in conjunction with the 25 GbE SFP28 transceiver module.

Note - To support the 10GbE SFP+ transceiver module in the QSFP slot, you must use the 10/25 GbE Adapter (CPAC-TR-QSFP28-SFP28) in conjunction with the 10 GbE SFP+ transceiver module.

Note - To support the DAC cables on CPAC-2-40F-B/CPAC-2-40F-C, you may need to update the firmware on the card, see sk116742.

Caution - When laser products (such as fiber optic devices or transmitters) are installed:

  • Do not remove the covers. If you remove the covers of the laser product, you can be exposed to hazardous laser radiation.

  • Do not stare into the beam, do not view directly with optical instruments, and avoid direct exposure to the beam.

  • There are no serviceable parts inside the device.
